About
CXO Europe
In mid-2002, a group of Senior Officers sketched
out their vision of an ideal networking organization
for high-profile executives and local leaders
in Colorado, USA.
Key elements they wanted to incorporate were:
* No vendor sponsorship or participation
* Participant Exclusivity - Invitations extended
only to executives or local leaders who met pre-determined
qualifications
* Informality - No speakers, seminars, committees,
etc.
Over 600 Senior Officers and Local Leaders currently
leverage CXO as a platform to enhance their network
of high-level contacts.
Additionally, these local leaders act as a sounding
board for local emerging technology companies.
CXO works closely with local Venture Capital companies
and Angel Investors to identify promising technologies
or innovative services which are appropriate for
inclusion in the CXO Mentoring Program.
CXO Members agree to take time once a quarter
to meet with the executive team of these pre-selected
early-stage companies to evaluate their technologies/services
and provide feedback with the objective of helping
to stimulate the local economy and keep their
"pulse" on emerging markets. This effort
to date has had many positive results, including
strategic partnerships, company acquisitions,
investment, as well as CXO executives sitting
on advisory boards, becoming board members and
even taking Sr. Management positions within some
of these promising companies.
In January 2006, CXO Europe was officially
launched at the London Stock Exchange.
We have grown to over 100 members in a couple
of months already, and no doubt, the size of CXO
Network Europe will match if not exceed those
in US. With the future launch of CXO Asia Pacific
in 2007/2008, CXO will be an unrivalled private network
that is peerless across markets and sectors.
Frequently Asked
Questions
Q. What do I have to do to get into these
high-level groups?
A. It's not so much what you have to "do",
as what you have to "be". Qualified
participants fall into several categories:
1. A Peer that meets the minimum criteria set
by the group (i.e. a CFO of a £30 mil ukpounds
(or equivalent) company or greater, A Sr. HR Executive
responsible for at least 3,000 employees, etc.)
2. A Resource they feel would be valuable to network
with (Managing Partner of a VC firm, nationally
renowned specialist in a field of interest, an
individual "well connected" to others
of interest, etc.)
3. A Local Leader (Governor, Mayor, CEO Chamber
of Commerce, visiting dignitary, etc.)
Q. I have something of value for the executives
and would like to present it at one of the peer
lunches. How would I go about doing that?
A. Vendors participation and/or sponsorship
are not permitted at most CXO Events. These events
are private and are focused on peer collaboration
rather than used to "present" material,
solicit or provide training.
Q. Is there a fee to participate?
A. Because we avoid vendor sponsorship, the
organization is structured to be a "pay-your-own-way"
environment. This allows CXO to operate without
the need for vendor sponsorship or involvement.
When coming to a lunch event, each participant
pays for their own meal. At larger events, an
entrance fee covers the cost of the venue. Qualified
members are also asked to pay nominal annual membership
fees to cover the administrative expenses of the
organization - which are kept to a minimum. These
fees may vary based on several criteria, but currently
do not exceed £500/yr.
